The BUD installation is inspired by the figure of one of the greatest American actors of the twentieth century, Marlon Brando. “Bud” – the inscription printed on a submarine – was his nickname. The movie incarnations of Brando and the military props borrowed from the films in which he starred, constitute the skeleton of a universal, somewhat enigmatic personality: strong and beautiful protagonist torn between good and evil, freedom and slavery. The protagonist stands in the very heart of darkness, with a tragic sense of duty to serve a bad and miserable cause; however, he fights for life, not for death, and for his own dimension of light.
